Today Is the Day To Hit McCain With the Truth
John McCain will lose his temper at some point and the nomination along with it. It’s inevitable. When the man is faced with reason or rational arguments he seems to be incapable of coping.
One supporter has some advice on confronting McCain to ensure that this true personality of his shines through tonight:
Now, TODAY, THIS DAY, is the time to Hit McCain, and hit him HARD. Why ? and why McCain ?
On a day of confrontation such as this (the Calif. debate tonight), when McCain thinks it is HE who will be attacking Romney, and feeling himself smugly superior, it will come as a shock to see a man McCain thinks is a mouse, an insignificant pipsqueak who doesn’t even deserve to share the same stage.
Lets take advantage that McCain is going to be so focused on condemning Romney, that a sudden, strongly worded, sharply spoken rhetoric by Dr. Paul against McCain will cause him to sputter and become red-faced.
The man has a glass jaw, he is a brittle, thin-skinned snarkmeister who never talks specifics.Dr. Paul, you need to take a page out of Von Clausewitz (the master military & political strategist who wrote the seminal book on strategy: “On War”, studied at every War college on the planet)
THIS IS THE TIME, THIS IS THE PLACE, THIS IS THE STATE !!
Hit now, Hit hard, Hit ONE MAN.
In a nutshell, the strategy is to apply the full pressure of your force at one SINGLE point, and push Hard.
NOT across a big front, i.e. in this case, multiple candidates, but only at one point, Hit JUST HIM, AND, while doing so, clearly identify how distinctive you are.Someone else has said : “hit clean”. FINE - actually, any hit by Dr. Paul is clean, because all of our arguments are empirically superior. McCain simply doesn’t have ANY cogent argument. He has to resort to blather and bluster. We don’t.
Everything else will fall into place.
Ignore the others :
Huckabee is a waste of space - he is disintegrating. Don’t even address him.
Romney is a pseudo-gentleman who wont say anything to the Dr., we can deal with him later. He is smart enough to sit back & enjoy the spectacle of a surprise attack on McCain. And no, to those reading who think that simply taking the ‘high road’ and talking in broad platitudes is enough. No, it is NOT anymore.
Dr. Paul has had a good strategy so far, we’ve been creeping upwards, slowly, steadily.
But there has to be a watershed event, the crest of a wave. That crest was reached yesterday in Florida. Rudy is out.
Everyone can see that Huckabee is going. That leaves only 3. …. and here’s the kicker :
ALL AMERICA SUDDENLY NEEDS to DISCOVER RON PAUL -
in one fell swoop, as only the MSM can do it. You know they love to suddenly show america a strange underdog with a bite - they love to show upsets. As american conservatives now face just 2 people they really don’t want, they can suddenly examine this strange 3rd man they’ve heard little about.
(75 % of the country doesn’t even know about our movement - the Media has only remarked on us in the most obtuse way. So, until today, he is only that odd man in the background that is snickered about)
Lets USE the Media’s prior blackout to our advantage.
We’ve complained endlessly about the Media’s blackout - Let’s take MAXIMUM ADVANTAGE of them, NOW !!
They hate a big noisy field, BUT they Love a spoiler to a 2 man race - it creates excitement which they love to pump up and display.
This will remove us from the 4 to 8 % range, and place us squarely in the 12 to 15% range.
Yes, that would be plenty, for now … at that point, the MSM will start doing a lot of the heavy lifting.More than anything, we NEED the predicted ‘brokered’ convention to actually materialize.
That means we need Romney to still be around - because we need for the first round of convention delegate balloting to FAIL, i.e. less than 50 % for one candidate. If Romney gives up before then, WE”RE OUT, McCain locks it up.
So, the right strategy is to hit the strongest one now, make him lose equilibrium from a side he never expected. …. and lets take this party to Minnesota in September AND BLOW THEIR MINDS !!
Thanks to Mitt Romney’s sleazy nature and willingness to say or do anything to become the nominee, we won’t even need to do very much ourselves. Romney will be more than happy to spend his millions attacking McCain because as far as he’s concerned this race is now down to just the two of them.
In case Romney needs some pointers, though, ABC News has a few interesting facts in this new story titled McCain’s Lobbyist Friends Rally ‘Round Their Man that he might like to use. For instance,
McCain has 59 lobbyists raising money for his campaign, more than any of the other presidential candidates, according to the latest finding from government watchdog group Public Citizen. The group, which advocates for public financing of elections, has identified more than 2,300 well-connected individuals, known as “bundlers,” who have solicited contributions from friends and associates on behalf of a presidential candidate.
McCain is known as a champion of campaign finance reform. His campaign Web site touts the senator’s credentials as a reformer, stating that he has fought for “greater transparency regarding the official activities of lobbyists” and the “disclosure of how candidates and campaigns are funded.”
When it comes to disclosing how much lobbyists are raising for his presidential campaign, however, the group found that McCain has fallen short, even by standards set by the Bush/Cheney 2004 campaign which voluntarily disclosed on its Web site the names of bundlers who raised at least $100,000 and $200,000.
McCain’s crooked talk is sitting right out there waiting to be revealed. How will he respond if Romney or Huckabee calls him out on this lobbyist money tonight? I don’t think it will be pretty.
If that’s not enough and anyone wants to talk about electability, or compare McCain to Ron Paul, here is some advice straight from Texas.
South Texas Chisme writes:
How to beat John McCain in the general election
This is going to be soooo easy.
1. Tie Iraq around McCain’s neck.
John McCain has been a vocal supporter of this war. In fact, John seams to support war all the time. McCain has give up lots of quotes.
2. Tie George Bush around McCain’s neck.
According to exit polling, 45% of the Republican voters who were mad at Bush, voted for McCain. Voters need to be shown how McCain has been kissing Bush’s butt for 7 long years. Make the additional point that Mr. Maverick compromised his ‘principles’.
3. Tie the sinking economy around McCain’s neck.
Massive borrowing along with other anti-American have weakened the American dollar along with the American economy. McCain support of the war and Bush make him guilty.
And my favorite bit,
How about this for a McCain campaign slogan: A vote for McCain is like a third term for Bush.
I’d like to see some t-shirts and bumper stickers with that one on it.

But … McCain has TEH SUNSHINE!
Dr. Paul has a temper, too. Watch the clip of him on Morton Downey, Jr’s show in 1998 if you don’t believe me.
I’d like to see the good doctor fight fire with fire at the debate tonight and surprise his opponents with feistiness.
The mainstream media always spins events. I disagree with the ease of winning the general election. The only way we will win is if we the grassroots inform those around us, because the mainstream media sure as hell won’t.
Ron Paul is supposed to set a good example, not attack someones character.
The racist smear has already done enough damage, he doesn’t need to be called a sore loser as well!
Eric, that’s 1988, not 1998. And that was 20 years ago. I have also heard that Dr. Paul was coached to be angry on that show. And even if he wasn’t, that show was a circus. As uncivil as the primary debates can be, it’s a walk in the park compared to Morton Downy and his thugs.
I agree that we don’t need to attack anyone’s character. We need to attack their platform. By attack I don’t mean anything other than “expose and tell the truth about.”
You said it. It’s down to four people. Two of the four will cut on Romney. Paul needs to focus on McCain since the conservative base of the Republican party is pissed off by McCain.
No more high road for Ron Paul simply because its now down to four candidates.
Ron Paul needs to attack their policies one by one on taxes, balanced budget, and runaway spending.
Ron needs to make himself stand out as the fiscal conservative. Not just the anti-war guy.
No one cares about the war anymore because the surge IS working. He needs to focus on what the american people are focused on: the economy, taxes and runaway govt spending. Stop talking about taking bases out of Korea and focus on Germany or in Italy or Guam. Republicans CARE about Korea, so why mention Korea to incense the base?
I’m not saying Ron Paul can’t have his convictions…but why not emphasize those which WONT alienate the republican base against him? Focus on common ground which republicans CAN rally around Paul for.
“Eric, that’s 1988, not 1998″
Typo - doubled the wrong digit
BTW, I was exaggerating a bit when I said he should act like he did in 1988. I would like him to stand up for himself in debates and demand the time he deserves, especially when his opponents utter lies like, “I’m the only anti-IRS guy up here.”
