Ron Paul polls 8% in TN; The Tennessean omits him from coverage

Posted by Brian Bailey on February 4, 2008

For no acceptable reason, The Tennessean left Ron Paul out of their election coverage.

From this supporter:

See the glaring omission of Ron Paul in today’s copy of the Tennessean.

Please, don’t waste money buying a copy to see for yourselves:

who also says,

Call AND e-mail the editor of the paper and let them know how you feel. And yes he does actually get the messages.

According to Rasmussen Reports, Ron Paul is polling at 8% in Tennessee as of 2/2/08.

The Tennessean has a Sunday circulation of over 200,000 and reaches roughly 30% of the households in the Nashville area, including parts of Kentucky.

How many votes do you think Ron Paul will get now that every reader of The Tennessean will obviously and through no fault of their own assume that he has dropped out of the race?

This sort of abhorrent omission is taking place all around the country. In my area, around St. Louis, one of the biggest radio stations in the country, KMOX, has left Ron Paul out of their commercials for Super Tuesday. All of our hard work getting out the vote in this area is being marginalized by the fact that every listener of that radio station will assume that Ron Paul has dropped out of the race since he is not being covered by what they believe to be a highly reputable news agency. If I asked Ron Paul supporters from around the country to add omissions from their local “news” agencies the list would be staggering.

Have absolutely no doubt about it, we would be polling at or near the top in every state in the Republic if news agencies would simply mention Ron Paul’s name.

  1. If everyone who states “Ron Paul will not win” would campaign and vote for him, this statement would not become true!
Ron Paul stands for the TRUE Republican Party. I believe the Libertarian Party would not have been created if the Republicans had not strayed from their principles.
I keep reading about how nothing but extremist groups are following Ron Paul (which is not true) and I ask you, what is more extreme and insane than supporting any candidate who wants to continue war? taxes? US funded global military? open borders? Federal ID cards?
I look at most of the candidates and see the same evil winks and grins that we have gotten from the current leaders during the past two presidential terms and I am sickened by it.
We need to wake up, stop being passive, and vote for someone who will move our nation forward again using honesty and The Constitution. Talk to your friends and family about Ron Paul, get involved in YOUR homeland again!!

  2. *Edit by Brian: This comment gave a link to a FRAUDULENT WEBSITE soliciting “donations.” Read more here.

  3. Aren’t there any lawyers out there who can find a legal basis for suing the hell out of all these media conglamorates for being so obviously biased? Above the bio’s and views, it reads “Presidential Candidates”. Ron Paul is a Presidential Candidate!!! The voice of the people is being suppressed. We will not be silenced. America is under attack by these corporations. What are we going to do about it?

  4. He was left out of the Commercial Appeal, and the University of Memphis student paper as well. Voter’s guides published with no mention of Ron Paul.

What can we do? It’s sabotage, plain and simple.
