Ron Paul Now Blacked Out of Media Blackout Coverage
Let’s not get angry, let’s get even.
Are you running for office yet?
Some highlights from the article below:
- “From the report, we can safely say that John McCain and Mitt Romney both received HUNDREDS OF TIMES more coverage in the last week, than Dr Paul.”
- “Let me just make this clear: The self-described “Project on Excellence in Journalism” tout themselves as being the monitors of the media. They are the ones meant to be exposing things like this blackout, yet here, they concede that it is the media doing the anointing, and yet they refuse not only to cover the fact that Dr Paul has been subject to a blackout, but we see here that they are now outwardly AIDING AND ABETTING the MSM in their blackout.”
From The Paulunteer Mailbox:
I’ve had to wait a few hours, before posting this, recognizing that I needed to calm down first. I’m not sure it worked, though, because I still feel like blowing a gasket on this.
First, a recap. The “Project on Excellence in Journalism”(sic) ( http://www.journalism.org ) have been studying media coverage for the Presidental primaries season, and producing weekly reports, starting a few weeks ago.
Here’s a graph of their results, for the week Jan 6th - Jan 11th. Source: http://www.journalism.org/node/9266 :

Here’s a table of their results for the week Jan 14th - Jan 20th. Source: http://www.journalism.org/node/9436 :

Here’s a table of their results for the week Jan 21st - Jan 27th. Source: http://www.journalism.org/node/9512 :

Now here’s the latest report for the week Jan 28th to Feb 3rd ( http://www.journalism.org/node/9610 ) with the following pics:

And cop this, from the data table for the period Jan 28th - Feb 3rd:

Yes, that’s right. Dr Paul has been bounced not just from the graph, but now also from the DATA TABLE!! I expect that this is because even his “Significant Presence” figure has dropped from 0.2% to be closer to ZERO than 0.1%. Even BILL RICHARDSON gets more coverage than Dr Paul!! And when did he drop out? Jan 10th. Three weeks ago.
From the report, we can safely say that John McCain and Mitt Romney both received HUNDREDS OF TIMES more coverage in the last week, than Dr Paul.
I rang up the author of the report, Mark Jurkowitz, last week. I discussed with him the fact that even HE had left Dr Paul off his graph, and asked him to include Dr Paul in the graph, along with everyone else. He refused at the time, saying that Dr Paul didn’t get enough media attention to warrent his inclusion. I pointed out that the fact that Dr Paul WASN’T getting the media attention WAS the story, and such needed to be exposed by his organization.
I spoke to him again earlier today (prior to the current week’s report being released). He again refused to include Dr Paul in the graph, stating that Dr Paul got basically no coverage, and therefore didn’t deserve to be mentioned on his graph. Now, I see that he’s bounced Dr Paul’s name from the data table, as well! Two weeks running, he has been made aware that I have been on to him about Dr Paul’s lack of coverage, and about the “Project on Excellence in Journalism”’s failure to highlight this blackout. With his latest decision, to exclude Dr Paul 100% from his report on media coverage, by excising him from the data table, it is evident now that either this man - or the organization for which he writes - has an agenda separate to their stated goals, and are in fact ACTIVELY WORKING AGAINST Dr Paul.
Their headline for the report is: “McCain Wins the Coverage Battle as Media Move to Anoint Him”. The irony that his own headline makes my point is apparently lost on him.
Let me just make this clear: The self-described “Project on Excellence in Journalism” tout themselves as being the monitors of the media. They are the ones meant to be exposing things like this blackout, yet here, they concede that it is the media doing the anointing, and yet they refuse not only to cover the fact that Dr Paul has been subject to a blackout, but we see here that they are now outwardly AIDING AND ABETTING the MSM in their blackout.
“Project on Excellence in Journalism”? More like”Ministry of Truth”.
Feel free to let them know what you think of their wilful failure to expose the MSM blackout, and their wilful decision to AID AND ABET the blackout by wiping Dr Paul from their analysis and reports.
The authors name is Mark Jurkowitz, but I think you should go straight to the top, Tom Rosenstiel, to find out whether Jurkowitz is promoting his own agenda, or whether it is the “Project on Excellence(sic) in Journalism”s agenda that he is operating:

I have been thinking a lot lately about why Dr. Paul isn’t making more of an impact in the larger sense - why is he behind at all? Why not the front runner?
Aside from the obvious - he represents a mortal threat to the government status quo (and the bankers who run government policies through the FED); Dr. Paul also is a threat to those who wish to remain in fear and those who want the government to solve the world’s problems. They both want something from government - welfare for the Dems and warfare for the Republicans.
So I see three different philosophical groups at play here: Us, the Ron Paul supporters who want Liberty and Freedom and don’t want the government taking our money to kill others and dominate the globe.
Second, the Democrats or Liberals / Progressives. They want to use government to create a socialist state where everybody is supposedly equal (are the rich ever really equal to anyone? Do they really want to be?), and cared for regardless of who has to pay for it or how much it costs.
They think everyone is “ENTITLED” to health care, social security etc., as long as we all pay into THEIR system so they can get rich. We are not allowed to create our own system, because they write the laws. Just look at the Liberty Dollar situation.
The Republicans or Conservatives are the other extreme. They expect government to keep pumping an endless amount of fiat money into war, ignore or rewrite environmental policy to clear the way for “free markets” and really don’t care what happens to anyone much but their families, cronies and church.
They have represented as much corruption and deceit as any Democrat the past eight years and show that Free Markets with no restraint can quickly become evil in intent and result. They operate mostly on greed, faith and fear.
Actually being free scares the hell out of them because they like to dominate and be dominated by the government (or the God) they create. Rather than Socialist, they lean toward Fascist - profit at any cost, use the government to insulate and support corporate pirates with our armies. Kind of like supporting corporate terrorism against the very public that buys their products and makes them rich. It’s Robin Hood in reverse - the govt. steals from the people and gives to the rich.
We are not Democrats or Republicans. We are free thinkers who do not need labels or someone to take care of us. We are not a cash crop for the elite to harvest every April 15th. We are not afraid enough to have our biometrics recorded into an ID card, or have our phones and internet tapped by the communists who run BOTH sides of Washington. We don’t need a parent because we are adults. We don’t need to solve all of the worlds problems. We need to stop creating them. We don’t need someone to tell us what to think. We just need the FREEDOM to think for ourselves.
We are the “outsiders”, the “fringe”, the “dark horses”, the “long shots” the “independents”, that the media can’t find room for in their newspapers or web sites. We are the face that gets left out of the picture. The name that isn’t on the list. We are the invisible army who do not need weapons to marshall a rEVOLution. We just need to be on the right side of the Law. You remember the Law. It’s called the Constitution of the United States of America.
Live Free or WHY?.

Let’s not get angry, let’s get even:
The Revolution News
Because our “leaders” have allowed five major corporations to control all the news outlets: radio, television, newspapers, and magazines.
Because we now cannot hear, read, or see “news” that is unbiased and uncontrolled.
We now must resort to revolutionary techniques to get our message out. Our message may easily be gotten out to the “sleeping hypnoticed masses” via:
Guerilla News Tactics:
1- Small Avery peel-off labels size 1′ x 2 1/2″ and even 1/2″ x 1 3/4″ that you may print-out on your own computer. Print your message and apply these stickers to bulletin boards of stores, restaurants, churches, including on top of flyers already posted there, soft drinks and candy dispensing machines, newspaper dispensing machines, magazines in waiting rooms, etc.
2- a- Make your own flyer and go to your local copy shop and make hundreds of copies.
b- Take these flyers and stuff them into local newspapers, magazines, and free publications. (Sorry media, but, we are not getting equal time, so we are going to take the equal time that we should have had in the first place.) If you have to put in fifty cents to open the newspaper dispenser in order to do this just consider that part of the cost of the revolution.
c- You may even want to consider taking on a part-time job delivering newspapers, magazines, or phone books so that you and your team may first stuff them with your flyers.
d- If you print-up some half-page flyers, they can be stuffed into books at your local library, bookstores, menus of restaurants, etc.
Be creative and make a commitment to yourself as to what you will do and for how long. Do not bring attention to yourself by wearing apparel that identifies your cause. We are now doing underground work! Your automobile must now not have any stickers that identifies your sentiment.
e- Your flyers may send people to different web sites or sources of more information. Make sure that in your flyers you put in at least two different references for more information so that no one is blamed for your guerilla tactics. And make sure that you do not put your name or even a Post Office Box for yourself. You want to remain aunonomous!
3- Radio: There are many talk radio stations that you may target in order to express your views weekly. Make a list of these stations, what type of subject matter is usually discussed, their phone number, etc. Then, figure out your strategy and work it little by little until you are real good at it.
Then, if you want you may expand it to your state and other states. Mainstream media is what we want to tackle. The internet is not as important at this time as the information there is flowing freely.
Send this posting to other sites and forums where the revolution is active or brewing.
Our cause for freedom, peace, and justice continues.

Comment made on February 7th, 2008 at 7:14 amI don’t know the details of the study mentioned here, but it isn’t as if Ron Paul didn’t get ANY media coverage. Many people in media were discussing him, and many local newspapers were discussing him.
The real problem is that most people turn to their major affiliate TV stations and major cable news networks to tell them how to vote. (NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox)
It is easy to see that media bias occurred, the real question I have is ‘why?’
I find Ron Paul’s argments generally seem to be very well thought out and the other candidates give flimsy answers. The news media now seems to work in tiny sound bites, and he-said she-said gossip format. Ron Paul never attacted his rivals, only their policies. He never gave the tiny pat-the-voter-on-the-head answer, only longer well-thought-out answers.
Ron Paul doesn’t look photogenic enough, I’ve heard. But I hardly think Bush, Giuliani, Thompson, or certainly McCain will be winning any awards.
If only the other candidates would give an answer to some of Ron Paul’s arguments, I could respect their decision to leave him out.
Why should I believe that the Muslims are harboring these legions of ‘insurgents’ waiting to attack us? And did we create their perception of the US by our own actions in the past?
Why should I believe it is worth $500 BILLION of our money to fight for another nation’s freedom? We don’t do that to any other nations that I hve seen. We don’t intervene in Darfur to protect lives.
Why should I believe it is worth trillions of dollars of indebtedness to accomplish everything the government wants to do to me? Is it really too much to ask to seek an explanation?
Lots of people don’t have time to seek the answers. Lot of people wouldn’t understand the answers. Lots of people might not care. Will it take another revolution to have this government, created by We, the people, learn to be accountable?
Comment made on February 8th, 2008 at 9:12 amI am writing to ask why Dr. Ron Paul was left off of your study and graphs on media exposure for presidential candidates. Ron Paul is one of 5 candidates for president in the two major parties. The omission of important data and outliers is out of line with scientific publishing ethics.
I wonder if it has ever occurred to anyone that the reason Dr. Paul hasn’t done well yet is probably due to the lack of media coverage. He always does well in caucuses and has several solid second place finishes. He has raised more money from military families than all the other candidates put together.
Please do not blindly follow the media blackout of Dr. Ron Paul by writing incomplete history concerning media coverage. He deserves to be covered in all articles, but most of all in the very important study that you are doing.
Comment made on February 8th, 2008 at 12:26 pmI want to wipe the media oligarch off the fricking map.
Burn it to the ground. Let no one escape.
Does this actually surprise anyone? I’d loathe that people actually find this news surprising. All you have to be is ‘awake’ to realize the media game as been played one-sided since the work Go on this election season.
GSUSHCRISTE, where is this countries people. Oh yeah, Sports Entertainment Consumption and Debt.
Where are the Leaders? Oh yeah, bought or silenced.
Where are the Grassroots? Oh yeah, pissed and getting larger and angrier every day.

Comment made on February 8th, 2008 at 1:15 pmWell, UnderTow, I’m not sure that your little rant does anything to help our cause, but I hope you feel better for venting.
Comment made on February 8th, 2008 at 1:43 pmIt is really beginning to look like the Republican candidate was selected a long time ago and they played a little game to make it seem as though they were going through the process. But I do not think they though Ron Paul would come out and begin taking votes away from their predetermined candidate John McCain. This thing looks fixed to me and I am mad as all!
I really wonder how many people would get behind Ron Paul if they heard him, understood him, and was shown with true numbers and with as much ethusiasism as the other candidates. Some people never look twice when they see the low number and barely mentioned candidate because their first thought is just some side show.
One day the independents in this coutry will be a force to be reckoned with, if our two largest parties can not keep it together and balance a freaken budget!
Comment made on February 8th, 2008 at 1:49 pmOMG!! To the blimp! We may not get media coverage, but we can definitely darken the skies!
Comment made on February 8th, 2008 at 3:22 pmWhen the economy, the ecology, and the
‘e-mersion’ have all reached their dead end, most people will say, “But why didn’t someone tell me things were this bad? I could have lived without watching the SuperBowl and the BritneyShow, if I had only known.”
Ever hear the story about President Harding and some of his ‘influential’ cronies needing a fire on an Alaskan hunting trip and all they had to ignite the fire with was money, including a lot of $100 bills, so they used them? That will be tame stuff for most when the logical results of our illolgical doings catch up with us.

Comment made on February 8th, 2008 at 5:38 pmHow to guarantee a fair vote count for Ron Paul
Someone posted this idea recently:
People should take cell phones with cameras into voting booths and take a photo of the screen, capturing voter registration/ID number and their vote. Photos can then be sent to a central location somewhere on the web so that the official vote counters will have to concede at least as many votes for that candidate as the number of photos sent in.
Alternatively, voters could send in information about themselves to a central website in order to guarantee that the fact of their voting is recorded independently.
Whatever the case may be, since ample footage of Ron Paul asking the right questions on Youtube cannot be deleted, even if they kill him it will be too late to erase the ideas he has expressed, which will change the political landscape radically for the better.

An election based upon fraud and bias is no election at all. Those that partake in fraud at any level will be held accountable in one way or another. Say No to FRAUD. Demand truth.
Comment made on February 9th, 2008 at 10:23 amRon Paul has would have won this election if not for the MSM and the other frauds in the election process and voting machines being manipulated. When they say Ron Paul only has 5 to 8 percent of the vote…that is totally based upon grassroots efforts rising above the fraud. When a candidate is blacked out, you might as well zip tie his hands and place a bag over his head, the usual method that people normally use. If you think the media did this on their own accord you need to learn more about David Rockefeller, the CFR and the many organizations he commands along with our CIA. Ron Paul’s message of freedom wins hands down if this message of hope and liberty is heard by those they wish to control. Remember, the statute of limitations on fraud and there is no time restriction of time when fraud is committed on tax returns, like murder. Force the IRS to enforce their rules on these people who wish to destroy America. Dig deep, the truth on the surface.
Put Ron Paul back into the mainstream media coverage or you will answer to me!
Comment made on February 10th, 2008 at 6:02 amTom Rosenstiel, from “Project for Excellence in Journalism” contacted me today:
He will be adding Ron Pauls name to the charts and story! I think this says a lot about his good name and website, for fixing this problem. Please remeber, he could have just easily told us to f@ck-off, but he choose to be a proffesinal. I for one thank him, we need all the positive Ron Paul coverage as he can get.
Here is the email I received from him:
John,
We have fixed the table in that report and intend to make sure
that Paul’s data is included (even if it is zero coverage) from here on.

To Tom Rosenstiel only,
You may not be aware of the following and it may help you make an
informed decision about one of your “reporters” that is possibly
reflecting your great organisation, in a very poor light. I first want
to say I admire your website, and yourself, for doing such a great job.
But now I’m very concerned that you may be heading down the path of all
the other poor Journalist, that are openly unfair and untrustworthy.
Please take action against the following, and research the facts for
yourself because I feel you must be a very fair person, that will be
outraged that one person working with you, could be on his own agenda.
Please take a few minutes to read this, thank you:
You are the people I turn to and you supposed to be the “truthful” watch
dogs against false media or corrupt corporate media. So I ask you, what
happen to “RON PAUL’s” name in your “Project on Excellence in
Journalism” search for the truth and facts report on unfair news
coverage by Mark Jurkowitz?
How are we (public) to take your organization seriously, if you run a
story about unfair Media Blackout Coverage on Presidential candidates
(by Mark Jurkowitz), if you are ALSO DOING THE SAME THING!??
It would be almost funny, if this was a “Saturday night live” website
and not that of a respected “excellence in journalism” website . Your
running a story on unfair news coverage, and yet Ron Paul is Now Blacked
Out of, a Media Blackout Coverage story!!
Please respond to this question: I believe you simply made an error,
would you please correct this by posting Ron Paul in the Mark Jurkowitz
coverage charts and story or will you reprimanded him openly if he is
participating in media bias? I enjoy this website and the time you have
taken in helping fair news coverage, BUT I can no longer trust getting
my facts from you, if you are also blatantly doing that in which you
supposed to fight against. If you can not be 110% fair and unbiast, you
are no better then those who are destroying the good name and trust in
excellent journalism. Have you become nothing more then the “Enquirer”??
PLEASE FIX THIS OVERSIGHT, I still feel you simply made a mistake,
because you did include Ron Pauls name in one Chart but not the others.
Thank you for your time in the very serious matter of trust.
John Vecnar
