Chuck Baldwin, Constitution Party’s Candidate for President
Our old friend Tyler Sims who put so much effort into getting volunteers to Iowa for the primary and putting Jeremiah Black’s television spots on the air sent us a message about Chuck Baldwin’s presidential campaign. Baldwin is the Constitution Party’s candidate chosen at their convention on April 26th.
Here is an excerpt from his website,
Due to my frequent criticisms of President George W. Bush, I am often asked what I would do if I were President of these United States. This column will serve as an attempt to answer that question.
If I were President, I would begin the process of safely extracting our troops from Iraq. In the first place, our troops are no longer fighting a war, they are an occupation force, which occupies a sovereign country. And this is being done without a Declaration of War. The Iraqi people resent our occupation as much as we would resent another nation stronger than ours invading and occupying America. If such a thing happened to our beloved country, I’m sure many of us would also become “insurgents.”
In the second place, the invasion and occupation of Iraq was absolutely unnecessary. Instead of sacrificing more than 4,000 American lives and the lives of tens of thousands of Iraqi citizens (not to mention some 2-3 trillion dollars), President Bush should have supported Ron Paul’s bill, H.R. 3076, the September 11 Marque and Reprisal Act of 2001. This is the constitutional way to deal with rogue terrorist organizations. This is the way President Thomas Jefferson responded to the Barbary pirates.
I was out of town this past weekend so I wasn’t able to post in time to inform everyone of the Freedom Money Bomb set for Memorial Day, but of course donations can still be made at Baldwin2008.com.
Personally, I have a lot to learn about this candidate before making any decisions about donations or a possible vote in November.
If anyone has some thoughts about the man please leave a comment or if you would like to make a longer statement you can send it to Paulunteer@gmail.com and I will post it here.

I supported him in 2004 (when he ran as VP), and I intend to support him this year as well. He endorsed Ron Paul as the Republican nominee, and I believe he spoke at at least one Pastors conference in Iowa on his behalf before the caucuses.
He has written many, many articles regarding the need to follow the The United States Constitution and on supporting Ron Paul.
He is the man to vote for if Ron Paul doesn’t win at the National Republican Conference.
Chuck and Ron would make an excellent team!!!
I am going to start supporting Chuck also because he and Ron are on the same page.
It’s all about Constitutional government and taking back the freedoms that we have lost! Chuck and Ron are both for that.
Both Chuck and Ron are not afraid of the establishment or of saying what they believe.
Let’s not be looking for petty differences. Let’s look at their strenght, which is the desire to return this country to the greatness that it once was by following the Constitution. This is what is needed to turn this country around.
We need a strong leader at the helm, and with Ron or Chuck we will have it!
I have voted for the Constitution Party Candidate in the last 2 elections,& will probably vote for Chuck Baldwin this time. In the Constitution Party I found a party that I agree with, not one that I have to make concessions with.
Sorry this is one Mormon who will not vote for an Evangelical.

Silly…Chuck Baldwin is a big favorite of the Mormons who are leaders in the Constitution Party. Chuck Baldwin doesn’t care what your theological views are. He cares what your Constitutional views are.
I am unwilling to support Chuck Baldwin for two reasons. One, his seeming inability to separate church and state. In my opinion, He seems to think every one should have Christian views as well as be constitutional. He seems to think that they are one and the same. Second his party will not be on the Ballot in most states. That immediately and simply makes voting for him a wasted vote. I believe Bob Barr and Wayne Root are the only viable “Constitutionalists” running for office this time and they will be on at least forty eight state ballots if not all fifty. They are for almost the same issues Chuck Baldwin professes to be for. They are as close to following the Ron Paul ideas and ideals as we can get. They would follow the rules and laws of the constitution as best any one can. If all the freedom loving Americans vote Libertarian this time, we could make a significant difference. If some choose to vote Constitutional party, We will all loose because those votes will not count for any one who might be able to win a constitutional victory.
