I think having the field narrowed to four, even though they still didn’t let him talk much, almost certainly must have made people at home take more notice of Ron Paul. I think this exchange in particular and the crowd cheering him in the background must have had an effect. Romano writes:

Actually, Huckabee has a few commercials running but is widely acknowledged to be essentially broke.
On MLK Day McCain had to leave the campaign trail to beg for money while Ron Paul received $1.85 million without even asking for it.

Paul responds directly to McCain’s “100 years” in Iraq statement, and he does not back down. He looks McCain and Romney right in the eyes and they are too ashamed to even look at him.
Ron Paul is a man among children on that stage.
